In what ways can I protect the surface of my Bamboo Pen?

I've only had my Bamboo Pen for about a week, and it is beginning to get scratched. I don't want it to become damaged beyond the point of no return. I have heard that putting it in a page protector works, or are there other ways to protect it? I love drawing with my Bamboo, so I don't want to lose it. and I certainly don't have the money to get it replaced!! So, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
