What's wrong with feeding a dog pork n beans?! (10pts for good answer)?

i was sitting on a bench at the park and i opened a can of pork n beans for my dog (thats my dog's favorite food) some crazy lady who i guess was an Animal protector or something flipped out on me and was like "why are you feeding your dog that youre going to kill it!!" and kept running her mouth about having animal services investigate etc..my dog is healthy its a golden retriever/lab mix and he's 9 months old i actually rescued him, the family took his mother and left him when they moved. he was almost starved when i found him. anyway just wondering whats wrong with feeding that to a dog? he WILL NOT eat dog food, ive tried different brands different flavors and he will not eat it. so im guessing before they left him he was eating table food whats some healthy table foods i can give him if pork n beans is so bad lol
