Can you use alcohol wipes to clean the screen of an iPod 4g?

I mean alcohol wipes is like Lysol wipes. If you know how they are, they clean bacteria & blah.. can I use that? Is it safe on the iPod's screen? If not, is there any suggestions on how? My screen protector is all dirty with dust & dirt or whatever & it wouldnt stick anymore. So any suggestions on how I can clean my iPod's screen? Thank you :)
